THE    MAINTENANCE    EVENT

Routine, minor, and unscheduled maintenance

Benjamin Franklin said, "In this world, nothing can be said to be certain except Death and Taxes." We would add aircraft maintenance as a third certainty. Oil needs changed, AD's need complied with, and sometimes - things happen. Whether your regular oil change is due, or you need a new tire after a harsh braking event, we can keep you going.

Labor rates

GA Piston: $125/hour

GA Turbine/Jet: $150/hour

Call out fees: AOG only

AOG and Unscheduled Maintenance Services

Ideally, we avoid this situation altogether through our comprehensive, devoted, and preventative care of your aircraft. However, you know what they say about "the best laid plans of mice and men." If you're already a treasured Keeper Going client, you will have our AOG number. If we've not yet established a relationship and your regular shop can't accommodate, or simply can't get you airborne in time, click the button below. We can't guarantee availability, but we can guarantee that you won't see a bill unless we earn it - that is, unless we fix your problem. For more AOG information or to start an AOG ticket, click below. If you're already a KG client, you know who to call.

Scheduled Maintenance

Ahhhh, yes. Our bread and butter. Scheduled maintenance is where Keeper Going truly shines. After all, what better way to solve an unscheduled or AOG problem than to prevent it from happening? Our scheduled maintenance structure is a bit different than most of what you have seen - but then again, isn't that the goal? If you're looking for the cheapest option, we'd be happy to recommend someone. However, if you're looking for the best option - we're it. Our scheduled inspection structure, including its pricing, is laid out in such a way as to provide thorough transparency for you, and thorough liberty for our mechanics. The goal is for you to be able to cut the check before we even start the job, and it still be accurate when we finish. Of course, unforeseen circumstances do pop up, but we've done our best to account for those too.

Inspection pricing

Piston Single (fixed gear): $3500

Piston Single (retract): $4500

Piston Twin (≤5500#): $7500

Piston Twin (≥5501#): $10500

Routine, minor, and unscheduled maintenance

  • Not AOG - timeline is not pressing, or this has been planned in advance.
  • No call-out or travel fees for aircraft located within ~45 minutes drive time of C62 airport
  • Labor clock starts upon arrival on station, and stops upon departure.
  • Materials are billed at normal commercial rate
  • Schedule-permitting: AOG calls will be placed ahead on the priority list

Terms/Details

Yeah, I know. Seeing the word "terms" generally causes one to brace for impact. Don't worry - these aren't those kinds of terms. It's difficult to fit all of the necessary information into one little block, so we made an entire section devoted to transparency and setting expectations.

AOG Maintenance

  • Call out fees apply once per call or per trip, depending upon parts availability and resolution timeline
  • An AOG call which requires a parts order with a 2+ day lead time will result in an AOG fee for the initial visit and diagnostics. The second/return trip can be treated as normal unscheduled with no fee.
  • If a return/follow up AOG trip requires displacing another job on the shop's schedule, a second AOG fee will be charged.
  • Consecutive days working on the same discrepancy will not accrue multiple AOG fees. (If it takes us more than 1 consecutive day to fix the issue, it falls under the same call)

Scheduled Maintenance

  • All parts and labor within the normal Annual Inspection scope are included. (i.e. Oil, filters, consumables, etc)
  • In addition to the normal scope, our prices include a "cushion" to allow for normally encountered, minor discrepancies (i.e. Hardware, simple wiring, minor parts,  etc)
  • Piston Single & Retract "Cushion": All discrepancies ≤1 hour labor, up to and including 5 hours cumulative total. 6 different discrepancies at 45 minutes each would be included in the cost, and absorbed by us. Parts ≤$50 each, up to and including $300 cumulative total. 6 different parts at $45 each would be included in the cost, and absorbed by us.
  • The parts and labor cushions are both included, and are not mutually exclusive (we will absorb both)
  • Light piston Twin: Discrepancies ≤1 hour each up to 8 hours cumulative total. Parts ≤$50 each up to $500 total.
  • Heavy Piston Twin: Discrepancies ≤2 hours each, up to 12 hours cumulative total. Parts ≤$75 each up to $750 total.
  • The goal of these cushions is A: Allow for transparent pricing so that we might absorb any minor issues that pop up without having to bill them additionally. B: Eliminate the "nickel and dime" structure employed by many shops. Our goal is for your itemized bill to include 1 item - Inspection.
  • If the cushion is used up during the inspection, we will not simply start a running ledger - we will start by removing the most substantial items from the cushion, to allow room for more small items. I.E. We will not hit the threshhold and then immediately start billing everything we come across. Our goal is to bill what we quote, and if our built-in cushion somehow fails to absorb all of the unforeseen discrepancies discovered during the inspection, we will rearrange things so that we can bill out as close to the quoted price as possible. For instance, if there is $35 left in the cushion, and we find a part needing replaced at $45, we will remove a $10 part from the cushion, bill it additionally, and absorb the $45 part in the cushion. Conversely, if there is $5 left in the ledger, and we find 5 parts needing replaced at $6 each, we will remove a $25 part from the cushion and bill that additionally, while absorbing the 5 parts at $6 each.
  • That's for all of the math geeks of the world. It sounds complicated, but it boils down to this: Our goal is to bill exactly what we quote, and we've set up our quote in such a way as to maximize the possibility of doing so. If you book with us, you can expect to receive a bill for the price you see above.
  • It should go without saying, but unfortunately it does not - any discrepancies or parts we find during the inspection which will have to be billed additionally will trigger immediate notification to you. We will not charge you for anything without your approval.
